Abnormal breast screen to assessment
The proportion of women recalled for assessment due to an abnormal breast screen is a key performance indicator for BreastScreen Australia.
Data availability
BreastScreen Australia’s National Accreditation Standards (NAS) measures include monitoring and reporting of the proportion of women in the target age range and in the 40–49 year age group and 75+ year age group who are recalled for assessment after their first screen or second and subsequent screens.
At present, although participation in BreastScreen Australia by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women is monitored and reported, data about recall to assessment are not routinely reported according to Indigenous status.
